Lenovo and The Rookies Team Up to Support The Next Generation of Rookies

“Are you not entertained?” quoted General Maximus, a.k.a Russell Crow, from the movie Gladiator. This quote has always rung true with me for the last 20+ years I have been in the industry. For years, film, television and games have touched the lives of all of us at different points in our lives and in different ways. But as the entertainment industry has evolved with new trends, technologies and levels of production that were once unimaginable, it’s easy for society forget where the creativity is born.

“The Rookies are fortunate to partner with an organization that is committed to fostering young talent and creativity.”

I have long admired The Rookies and their mission to help young artists find their passions and build life-fulfilling careers.

An International Awards for young artists, the Rookies discover and showcase top talent from higher education facilities and help launch them into careers at the world’s top studios. Individuals can enter in contest categories like architecture, graphic design, robotics, virtual reality and much more. And winners receive state-of-the art technologies and tools based on their respective fields.

The Rookies is a wonderful platform for artists to showcase their work, network with their peers and receive feedback from mentors.

So when the opportunity arose to support The Rookies, Lenovo did not hesitate. Lenovo has a long history of supporting students and enthusiasts in the arts that aspire to have their work seen by the world. We are honored to have the opportunity to support the next generation of great film, television and game development artists who will share their creative vision with the world and “keep us entertained”.

“After working with Lenovo through the years, I have learned that what drives them is their customers and their ability to create workstations that fuel innovation and creativity,” said Andre Luis, Co-Founder, Trojan Horse was a Unicorn.

Today, we congratulate the all of the 2016 winners. We are inspired and humbled by all of your work. And we celebrate your accomplishments and the bright future that waits for each of you.

“Overall, the community is grateful to partner with Lenovo, a company that has demonstrated its commitment in supporting artist driven activities in the media and entertainment industry,” said Scott Ross, visual effects industry pioneer. “Lenovo continues to be the advocate of the artist.”
